It all started when…
I can remember riding along with my mother in our big green station wagon with the wood siding, holding Avon bags on my lap, my feet barely clearing the edge of the seat. I loved to look at the tiny white lipstick tube samples in each bag and practiced my reading skills by trying to sound out the names of the colors on the bottoms of the tube. But what I remember most is the excitement of the recipients. They were always so happy when they looked through the bag and over the moon that they got a free sample or two. Most would close their eyes a bit as they smelled the latest lotion or face product. It seemed to transport them somewhere wonderful. Somewhere with hope and promise of having an amazing complexion and looking and smelling like a million bucks. It felt like we delivered the most awesome bags of happiness, a little break from their day, a short vacation for the mind.
